Legacy Cars to Run at North Wilkesboro

The Allison Family is proud to announce that a race at historic North Wilkesboro Speedway has been added to the 2010 Allison Legacy Touring Series schedule for September 4, 2010. The series will run as a support race for the PASS Late Model Series. The track is finally getting new a new life thanks to a group of individuals that include, Terri Parsons, Alton McBride and Bosco Lowe. Races are scheduled for 2010 for the PASS Late Model Tour, USARacing and the ASA Racing Series. The Buck Baker Driving School has signed on with North Wilkesboro and most recently Goodyear Tire and Rubber has become the Presenting Sponsor for the track for the next three years. "Racing is going back to it's roots" says Alton McBride, President of Speedway Associates, the group that is bringing the track back to new life. The Allison Legacy Series drivers are looking forward to being a part of the North Wilkesboro elite group and we hope that all race fans will support the effort and work of everyone involved at the North Wilkesboro track.

  Staying Focused

We often talk about priorities, and with a new year almost here I encourage each of you  to evaluate what your primary focus is. This society we live and work in can quickly sidetrack us from what matters most. One thing I do to stay focused is ask myself; is what I’m doing  right now going to matter  25 years from now? Too many times the answer is no, and a readjustment is necessary. I have asked before: is first place the only winner?  How about working long hours, at the expense of time with family, just to have a bigger house? This will get you a big house, only it will be lonely. So, what matters in the long run? I’m glad  you asked! Time spent working on making your relationship with your spouse  better will matter!! Enjoying the short amount of time with children and getting involved with what interests them as they grow up will matter long term. Building relationships with those  folks we come into contact with through various activities, such as racing,  matters. In other words don’t  use people to get things, use things to get to know and help people. The Bible gives clear directions about this issue in Ephesians 4:32 “ Be kind  to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ has forgiven you.”  This Christmas season, don’t miss out on what matters most!  Check your focus and make the necessary adjustments, you won’t regret it!    Merry Christmas!                                                                                       Michael L.
