LEGACY SERIES BANQUET |
|
Mt. Ulla, NC January 14, 2012---After
a buffet dinner at the Stricklin Party Barn, everyone was
welcomed by Kenny Allison. On behalf of the entire series he
thanked all of the drivers, car owners and crews who raced
in 2011 along with their families and recognized Timmy Hill,
the 2011 Nationwide Rookie of the Year, Jay Carley and Mark
Chapin Texas Legacy Dealers and the Rick Ware Family.
Thanks also went to the other racing series that the Legacy
cars run with, PASS Super Late Models, CARS Pro-Cup and UARA.
All Legacy Car suppliers were noted as was the Legacy Series
advisory Board and all of the tracks where the series ran.
The 2011 Allison Legacy Series Champion Tyler Hill received
awards at the for winning 13 races, 3 at Hickory, 2 at
Orange County, 2 at Florence, 1 each at Dillon, Rockingham
1/2 mi., Concord, Greenville-Pickens and Carolina
Motorsports Park. He finished in the top five 16 times in 17
races. Tyler also received the "Hard Charger of the Year
Award". John Nemechek who finished second in points was the
"Rookie of the Year". He was the top finishing rookie 14
times out of 17 races. Quinn Fowler, 3rd in points was the
Hard Charger of the Race at Dillon, Hickory and Kershaw.
Justin LaDuke got the 4th place trophy and the
"Sportsmanship Award". Ryan Mackintosh picked up the
trophy for 5th place. He was the Hard Charger of the Race at
both South Boston and Concord races. The "Crew Chief of the
Year Award" went to Mark Nahrstedt and the "Most Improved
Driver Award" to Hunter Moody. The "Family Award" went to
the Nemechek Family. Other drivers receiving certificates
and checks for the Hard Charger of the Race were
Nemechek,Hunter Moody, Justin LaDuke, Ian Isringhausen and
Casey Hillenburg. Drivers received trophies, plaques,
watches to Hill and Nemechek and clocks to the top five
drivers. There were some Razzberry Awards presented to
Nemechek, Quinn Fowler and Tech Inspector, Bob Midgett.
Several door prizes were given away followed by the song
"Bad to the Bone" sung to Tyler Hill for his achievements in
2011. Karoeke and dancing followed. Thank you all
drivers, car owners, sponsors, families for being a part of
the Allison Legacy Series. A special thanks to Bruce Hayes,
Hayes Jewelers, The Creative Gourmet, Ollie, Wes, at CV
Consolidated Products, Food Lion, Martinsville Speedway,
Goodnight's Service, Cracker Barrel, East Coast Wings, First
Bank, NAPA Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, Subway, Angie &
Dennis and Alan Wilkes sponsor of the Hard Charger Awards.
