Allison Legacy Race Series

For Immediate Release
Salisbury, North Carolina-------(February 25, 2006)         BULLETIN SAME FOR 2007 KERSHAW RACES
Subject:  Car Setup Specs for Kershaw Track
To:  All Legacy Competitors
Here is what we did to our cars for a starting point for Kershaw.

To start with we took all lead out of the left frame rail and put it in the right. We left 20 lbs under the seat in Justin’s car. Small drivers will have to put lead in lead box in rear of car. Justin’s car has about 50 lbs. in rear.

We took the left front lower a-frame off of both of our cars and lengthened the front heim joint 5 turns and lengthened the rear one 2 and ˝ turns out. We took the left front upper and ran the heim joint all the way in. We took the right front upper lose and lengthened it.

Caster settings in both fronts were 1 and 7/8 degrees positive and camber settings were 1 and 1/2 degrees + RF and 1 and 1/2 - LF. You could use more camber in Left front but I don’t recommend bringing the lower heim out any farther than 1/2 way if you do so you will probably regret it if you hit the rumple strips. Remember to get your frame heights before you get your final front end settings.

Frame heights were the following:
• LF ------ 4 3/4
• RF ------ 4 3/8
• LR ------ 4 5/8
• RR ------ 4 1/2

Springs in the white car were:
• 380 LF 360 RF 160 Both Rears
• Wheel weights were: 508 LF 492 RF 360 LR 314 RR
• Toe: 1/16 out and I adjusted it all on LF

Springs in the blue car were:
• 360 Both Fronts 140 LR 150 RR
• Wheel weights were: 518 LF 328 RF 366 LR 466 RR
• Toe: 1/16 out
• Pan hard Bars middle hole both cars

When you do your shocks and springs you can probably leave your RF on the car. Your rear shocks are close if you swap left and right then fix a new LF. I think a lot of combinations will work. More important than setup is your brakes. You need all new high temp fluid dot 5, don’t mix fluids put all new and it is my suggestion to put brake ducts on your car. We are in the process of gathering stuff for this now. Gear will probably be 429 or 411.The course can be run in 3rd and 4th gear, shifting on 3 straights per lap so new clutch fluid would be recommended also. These things will get you in the ball park and we will see you at the races.
